Asbestos Removal
As is common in houses of this vintage most of the cladding on our house is the ‘bad’ type of fibro that contains the evil asbestos fibres. We chose to get this removed and disposed of by a professional who has the appropriate licence. This isn’t a cheap exercise but it’s nasty stuff and the builder who’s helping us said he didn’t want to touch the stuff so it seemed best.
Because our project involves knocking out some internal walls later down the track we’ve arranged for a two stage removal process, with the external fibro and the entire original sewing room cladding off first and the internal stuff later.
We decided to keep out of the house for the two days it took for this first lot of removal so we had a sleepover at the office which was fun but involved getting lots of things organised for one evening. We got pizza for dinner, took tea and cereal for breakfast and Acacia still even managed to practice her violin.

And when it was all taken away and cleaned up it looked like this (dog optional)…
