Deck – finished

The deck is done! Another milestone down.

Dodging the insistent rain (which cunningly started up as soon as we started building work again…) Al, Annette and I did a batch on Friday, Acacia and Min helped for a while on the weekend and Al and I finished on Tuesday.

On Tuesday we also moved the hot water system around the corner so it wouldn’t be taking up usable space. Dave came and did a great job doing the necessary plumbing things, followed up by Tony the sparky.

We’ve talked about having a deck in this space for what seems like forever so it’s kind of weird to finally have it there.

Al and I also collected all of our doors and windows from Raleigh Secondhand – we bought them months ago and have been waiting for delivery via proprietor Col’s broken down truck for a few weeks now. We need them now though because framing starts in a few days so I borrowed generous Mark’s Pajero to pull Col’s big trailer and bring em on home.
