Earthworks

Despite a rainy Sunday our earth has been well and truly worked. Bobcat master Shay Young spent most of the day hard at work, cutting the area for our extensions and digging the footings for the retaining wall and piers. We kept a bit but the majority of the dirt had to be taken away – luckily there were a few friends who wanted a truckload or two of nice soil.

After living here for more than 5 years it was a very strange experience to see such a big change made so quickly.

Pete, Al and I also did some demolition of the verandah rails and palings and most of the rest of the frame for the old sewing room.
